Marius J. Ged, Esq.
Boca Raton, Ft. Lauderdale, West Palm Beach, Florida
Marius “Marty” Ged is Managing Partner and Co-founder of Ged Lawyers, LLP, a family-owned and operated law firm. He prides himself on successfully leading a team of more than 20 attorneys and 100 support staff working on behalf of clients throughout Florida.
Marty grew up in New Jersey and started his career as an underwriter for insurance giant AIG in New York where he worked from 1997 to 2002. But even as a child, he felt the desire to help others. Following the 9-11 tragedy, which hit close to home, he decided to pursue law school and follow his dream.
After graduating from Nova Southeastern University Shepard Broad College of Law in 2005, Marty joined the predecessor to this firm. During his early years, he worked on a variety of cases – from real estate transactions to property damage to personal injury protection (PIP) claims. This helped him to become the well-rounded attorney he is today.
In 2012, following Hurricane Sandy, the firm expanded its footprint and began helping those who had lost their homes to the storm. It was personal for Marty since he too lost his home to Hurricane Sandy. He and his cousin, Glen Ged, served more than 1,000 clients, helping them navigate the complexities of the legal process and get the compensation they deserved. In one instance he was able to negotiate a $7.6 million settlement for a homeowner who the insurance company initially offered just $250,000.
Together, Marty and Glen grew the firm’s property damage division to a significant presence. Today, that division has a dedicated staff of six attorney and 10 paralegals, and has collected more than $30 million for its clients.
In 2017, Marty and Glen formed Ged Lawyers, LLP. Marty has a track record of securing favorable outcomes for his clients. He has successfully won numerous seven-figure property damage settlements and, under his leadership, GED Lawyers has collected tens of millions of dollars in benefits for its PIP clients. Marty is passionate about helping his clients get the compensation they deserve. Because the firm works on a contingency basis, clients don’t pay anything up-front.
Marty’s insurance background gives him a unique perspective and insider’s view of the tactics and strategies used by the insurance industry. In addition, he considers himself a serial entrepreneur and businessman, a trait that helps not only his clients, but has been beneficial in growing Ged Lawyers into the respected powerhouse it is today.
When he’s not serving his clients, he’s serving the community. His grandfather was one of the founding members of the American Lebanese Syrian Associated Charities (ALSAC), the fundraising and awareness organization for St. Jude Hospital. St. Jude remains an important organization to the firm today.
In fact, his grandfather played an instrumental role in developing his philanthropic nature. When he was a teenager, he would take him to deliver food to the neighborhood soup kitchen. When he learned of Boca Helping Hands, a local food bank, through his work with Leadership Boca, Marty provided pro bono legal work to the nonprofit.
Marty and his wife also are active at St. Andrews School in Boca Raton where their twin sons and daughter attend classes.
Marty is admitted to practice law in Florida and New Jersey District Court. He was named a Rising Star by Super Lawyers.
